Cinnamon Sugar Toast – Yum
I was sick yesterday. So far, everything seems fine today. But yesterday, I was struggling through fever, chills, and body aches to write up a storm, make phone calls, and send emails.
When my wife got home, she pampered me, getting me water and snacks and such. I really didn’t have much of an appetite and felt nauseous at one point, so I just had a few snack through the evening instead of a full dinner. At one point, that included cinnamon sugar toast.
Oh, how I love cinnamon sugar toast. I could sing its praises. It’s mix of tastes and textures, the way the granules of sugar melt in the butter, and the cinnamon sings on top of it all, is simply delightful. Plus, when you make it on multi-grain bread, it’s good for you, right?
But something’s different here. My wife rarely cooks, bless her heart. I guess she lucked up. And something like making cinnamon sugar toast became a real challenge to her.
It’s not that it’s really difficult or that she can’t cook at all (her chili is better than mine), it’s just that she hasn’t yet developed that skill set. She focuses on other things. But when it comes to bread, butter, cinnamon, and sugar… not so much.
Even in the simple, there is a great amount of skill required. Just ask anyone who practices sword fighting. Maybe that’s why great chefs often go back to cooking simply after years of training and studying advanced techniques.
There’s something similar about this in life insurance too (ah, you knew I’d get there eventually). There are a lot of things to consider in a life insurance policy. I’ve even heard insurance agents from other disciplines complain that life insurance is too hard.
But what could be so hard about life insurance? If you die while the policy is still going on (or “in force”), it pays your beneficiary a specific amount. Simple, right?
Over the years, life insurance seems to have become un-simple. It focuses on cash value, rates of return, extra features, and durations that might not meet your goals.
For some this is important, and it is important for insurance professionals to engage in these ongoing discussions. But most of us want a life insurance policy we can understand and does what we expect.
If you are one of those people, there is Clarifinancial. We force agents to boil their life insurance quotes down to the essential elements while competing for you. Your life insurance choice becomes easy because the elements are clarified. Try it now.
